Alex Banks – Live A/V Show

Since releasing his debut album ‘Illuminate’ on Monkeytown Records in the summer of 2014, Brighton-based producer Alex Banks has progressed from being an in-demand remixer and Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel ‘Mix of the Year’- winning DJ to that and so much more today. From touring Europe with Moderat, via countless live performances at continental festivals including Germany’s legendary Melt, he’s raised his own bar, his own way. Aside from remixes for Bonobo, Ry-X, The Howling, and Robot Koch, his recent releases on electronic pioneer Max Cooper’s Mesh label have solidified his position as a leading name in forward-thinking electronica, crafting intricate melodic hooks with beautiful atmospheres layered over driving beats.

And what comes now and next is just as forward-thinking as the material he’s put out previously, unbounded by electronic music’s typically rigid genre barriers and capable of connecting with an audience on a cerebral, as well as, a physical level. His latest release ‘Projections’ is his third full length album, released August 2022. The nine track LP conceived during the pandemic lockdown period sees Banks exploring an experimental side to his creativity, having used the period of relative isolation to push his production skills to a new level. In the absence of being able to test the new tracks in clubs, he imagined a world returned to normal where clubs and festivals thrive once more and tailored his compositions to be the perfect soundtrack for those moments when dance floors are filled again and his music can be unleashed on a sound system.

With the new album comes a brand new live

A/V experience, featuring stunning audio reactive visuals created through collaborations with leading digital artists. Performing with Ableton and a selection of the analogue gear he used to create the LP, Banks reworks his tracks live to create a unique experience for every show, improvising with structures and audio manipulation, tailoring the musical experience for every occasion.
