Soundcrash presents a celebration of brass beats & the best vibes

Hackney Colliery Band, known for their lively performances and happy, energetic tunes, are returning to London with a string of similarly feel-good, dance-inducing bands to give you the warmest of welcomes into February!

London’s contemporary answer to the marching bands of New Orleans, the wedding bands of Eastern Europe, and the brass bands of the British mining communities, Hackney Colliery twists the traditional brass band sound into the modern era by adding drum machines and electronica to their tunes. This addition of rousing rhythms and thumping beats undoubtedly sets the band apart, making them the ultimate band to party to!

Joining Hackney Colliery to provide you with a night of non-stop party bangers are The Heliocentrics, Huey Morgan, and Werkha.  Heliocentrics, a Soundcrash favourite, blend raw funk, dark cinematic psychedelia, and sci-fi jazz to create a one of a kind sound, earning them a cult following around the globe. Huey Morgan, the man for whom the term “cool dude” might have been invented for, will be adding his sunny, up-lifting rock/funk/hip hop vibes to brighten up the mix. Finally, Werkha will be bringing his unique, heady fusion of soul, afro-beat, jazz, and electronica to get the dance floor heaving.

A stellar list of live acts calls for equally amazing DJs, and we’ve got just the people! Cherrystones is intense, passionate, and funny. His humour translates brilliantly into his music, and the distinct ability he has to blend Italian film soundtracks, garage fuzz, krautrock and punk, and translate them into a hip-context is very cool and very fresh. Tru ThoughtsRhi is new to the London scene but definitely not one to overlook. Her music is hip hop heavy, with a focus on deep beats and catchy lyrics. Like Cherrystones, Rhi tucks away light hearted humour between heavy bass and intricate rhythms that’ll give you a chuckle as you dance the night away with a drink in hand.

This is set to be the year’s ultimate party night – ideal for keeping those winter blues at bay.
