Soundcrash are extremely excited to announce the return of the rapper Dizraeli and his band “The Small Gods”  announcing Cate Ferris as support, to join them with a unique live solo show on 13th November at The Jazz Cafe!

Dizraeli & The Small Gods are a 6-piece band playing their very own breed of psychedelic hiphop music. With award-winning rapper & multi-instrumentalist Dizraeli on lead vocals and featuring world Female Beatbox Champion, Bellatrix, they are utterly unlike anything you know. Their live show has never failed to bring holy fire to any stage they stand on.

They formed in 2009 when Dizraeli released his debut solo album, ‘Engurland (City Shanties)’. The album featured many of the band members anyway, and they came together to tour the songs from it.

It wasn’t long before they were spurting out new, collaboratively written music, with echoes of their backgrounds in hiphop, folk, jazz, classical, electronic music and all between… An epic album, Moving In The Dark, hefted itself out of this fruity swamp and ECC Records released it in 2013, hooting and bending minds as it went. Tracks were given weighty rotation on 6Music, BBC Radio 2, Radio 3 and local radios around the UK.

Now it’s 2014 and an even fresher new sound is taking shape – away from the folked sounds of Moving In The Dark and into weirder terrains. Think J Dilla meets Bjork aboard the Jefferson Airplane, and you’re just about circling the turd.

In autumn 2014 the Small Gods embark on The Depths Tour, with a brand new anti-homophobia single and video… It’s about to get swervy. “

“Folk or hip hop? I don’t know, but Dizraeli and The Small Gods make me realise how wonderful it is to hear real English – fluent, witty and arresting”. The Times Saturday Review

If you were at the last headline show at The Scala, with the Mouse Outfit you’ll understand why we think Dizraeli and the Small Gods are one of the most interesting new live acts on the scene and why we had to get them back to London to play another very special show.

“A standing ovation at the end (a near unheard-of phenomenon in the sedate Poetry Tent) … reaffirmed my continued belief that whatever form Dizraeli is playing in, he’s deserving of a much higher status. Definitely one to catch at every opportunity.”- Music News, Latitude Festival
