Ash Walker presents ‘Aquamarine’

Secret Central London Location

Times: 7-11pm

“A sound that is truly in a world of it’s own” Gideon Coe

Describing his current sound as trip-hop with an abstract twist, Ash Walker incorporates an intoxicatingly heavy dub reggae bottom end with samples of original material – all firmly rooted in jazz harmony. This July, he launches is third album ‘Aquamarine’ on Night Time Stories. Described as “a heavyweight astral show of rhythm and vibes”

An avid collector of jazz, blues, soul, funk, reggae, and all things in-between; Ash’s creativity is exploratory. Inspired by artists from Duke Ellington, to J Dilla, his first two albums gained attention for the likes of BBC6 music, Clash & XLR8R. ‘Aquamarine’ is the culmination of all that he’s absorbed: a truly cosmic explosion of sound and colour, rhythm, shape and patterns; a sound discovered in the grooves of a thousand records, united in one.

With collaborators on the album including the silky voice of Laville, trumpet genius Yazz Ahmed along with bassist Marc Cyril and even renowned producer Johnathan Shorten, it’s a phenomenal body of work.

On July 20th, Ash Walker performs the album live for the very first time at a secret Central London venue to be revealed to ticket-buyers only.  Experience this exclusive play of what is sure to be one of 2019’s most unique albums.

“My previous albums have felt to me more like ventures on land. This one feels more like a deep sea voyage into the subconscious.”
